EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND :
1975 - 1979 Attended The Gap State High School, Brisbane, Queensland.
1980 - 1984 Attended the Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia.
After graduation I travelled extensively throughout Europe before undertaking a three-week intensive 16mm film course at Crosswind Films Ltd., where I trained under Steven Bernstein ASC. I then took up the position of workshop organiser/maintenance engineer at the London Film-makers Co-operative in March, 1986.
From 1987 through to 1990 I worked on a volunteer basis camera assisting and operating on student productions at the N.F.T.S. and London International Film School. This work included both film (16mm & 35mm) and video on under-graduate and graduate projects. From 1989 through to 1993 I worked in a training/supervisory capacity as Director of Photography on six 16mm telemovies for The Children’s Film Unit/Channel 4.
From 1990 to 2001 I trained and worked at Planet Television as a lighting cameraman and video editor using both tape and non-linear systems, while continuing to provide freelance services in film, video and more recently internet webcasting.
Recent projects have included overseas work for SAGIA and the Saudi Fund for Development including countries from Bangladesh and Sri Lanka to Senegal, Mali, Lebanon & Saudi Arabia.
During the past three years I have also completed several feature films on various formats, serving as Director of Photography.
